Next Meeting of the Green Party of York County is scheduled for Thursday September 2nd, 2010 at 7:00 PM.
The next meeting of the Green Party of York County is scheduled for Thursday May 6th, 2010. The main topic will be our sponsorship of The Cove: the Academy Award winning movie about the activities of courageous activists that expose Japan’s secret dolphin harvest. The next meeting of the Green Party of York County will be held on April 1st at 7:00 PM. Location is at GreenLine Paper Co., 631 S. Pine St., York 17403. Issues to be discussed: “Green in the City” earth-day event on April 17th and the sponsorship of “The Cove” documentary showing at the Strand Capitol. Also, 2010 dues are due! The Green Party of Pennsylvania 2010 Annual Meeting and State Nominating Convention will occur the weekend of February 20-21, at the Holiday Inn, Monroeville, PA just east of Pittsburgh. There will be workshops and speakers on Saturday, February 20 and a state business meeting on Sunday, February 21. The state business meeting is a nominating convention for Green Party candidates and the venue at which the GPPA elects its officers for 2010.
Persons considering possibly running for state legislative offices as Greens are strongly encouraged to attend, and will need to attend either this meeting or one in the Spring.

Climate change is the most important issue of our age. We Greens hope that Obama finally gets something right, and shows strong comittment and leadership for climate solutions in Copenhagen this month.
Also, YCP professor Keith Peterman joined our Greens Holiday Party to report about his upcoming trip and mission to Copenhagen. He will be reporting to the York community through his blog via the York Daily Record. You can follow his reports at http://www.yorkblog.com/hot/ during the conference.

Meanwhile, there will be a Green Party candidate, Stephen E. Baker, running for Township Auditor in Springettsbury Township. Don’t forget to vote on Tuesday, November 3rd.
